I have a lot of old home videos stored on my Canon DC100 Camcorder. I had used this DC100 to shoot family videos since 2006 when it was released. This camcorder accompanied me so many years and it’s really cost-effective. The outputting videos it recorded is straight to DVD with 16:9 or 4:3 shooting size.
Last weekend, the memory card of the camcorder is full and I realized there are so many short videos in it. So I decided to bring them into Avid Media Composer for editing. But I couldn’t get them feeding into the editing software because DVD is not allowed to be put into my video editor. Then I searched on Google, and finally found Aunsoft Video Converter. This powerful converter can easily get Canon DC100 VRO to Avid Media Composer.
PS: I finally chose this converter mainly because of its specific output format selection. Even like me, a totally unskilled person, can easily follow the instruction to find the icon Avid Media Composer and then enter it for more detailed formats like 1080p .mov.
Aunsoft Video Converter is a fantastic video converter combining VRO converter, AVCHD convert, MXF converter etc. As we all known, there will be a great loss of quality about videos after the conversion. But to my great surprise, the output video from Aunsoft Video Converter retains its high quality! It brings VRO, MXF, AVCHD and many other popular video formats to many common output video formats for Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Premiere , QuickTime and so on. In a word, it supports great many kinds of video and media player, set format parameter for different devices and convert video files in batch mode.
Step1: Import or drag Canon DC100 files.
When you start Aunsoft Video Converter , its clear instruction in the main interface is clearly to show you the main function icon. You can add or drag the file or the folder to it without worrying about it not recognizing VRO files.
Tips: I recommend you to download VRO files from Canon DC100 first, and then you can add these files to the software. This is to keep the stability of importing files and prevent the conversion to break off.
Step 2: Select Avid DNxHD 1080P MOV to be the output format.
Click the format and choose Final Cut Pro > Apple ProRes 422 (*.mov).
Step 3: Set video and audio profile.
Click “setting” to adjust the specific parameters.
Tips: You may also change the codec, size, bitrate, frame rate, sample rate, and channels of the video and audio for your specific needs.
Step 4: Convert Canon DC100 VRO to Avid Media Composer mov.
Click the yellow arrow icon to convert Canon DC100 VRO to ProRes. With just a click on “Open output folder”, you can locate the export ProRes files easily.
Tips: This efficient program supports batch conversion. You can go to sleep when Aunsoft Video Converter for Mac processes batch conversion via a click on “shut down computer” after conversion.
After I got the converted ProRes from Canon MC100 VRO to Avid Media Composer, I edited it in my Final Cut Pro. At last, our family enjoyed this smooth and high quality edited family video very much!
