Summary: How do you do with JVC HD Everio GZ-R10SE recorded AVCHD in FCP? Is it possible to import 1080 50i AVCHD to Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1 directly or with deinterlacing? This article will help you got the amser.

image

As a “Quad Proof” camcorder, the JVC HD Everio GZ-R10SE can record AVCHD MTS at up to 1080/50i.When I import 1080 50i recordings in Final Cut Pro X, I can see before the import is started that FCPX recognizes the clips as 1080 50i, but when the import is completed, it becomes 25fps. Then when creating a project the only options for 1080i available appear to be 25i or 29.97i. However, 25i is not nice to watch for it is like half the frames are missing and very choppy.

I got no amser to avoid interlacing issues when I posted on Apple forum. So I turn to Auncam  MTS/M2TS Converter for Mac as alternative,which is perfect in transcoding 1080p/1080i AVCHD to ProRes 422 to edit in FCP, including FCP 6/7 and FCP X. In addtion, it is developed with some easy and useful editing functions, such as deinterlacing 1080i files, joining imported clips together for easy ingesting, trimming section of your file, adding text/image/video watermark to your original files, replacing audio tracks, etc. With it,I convet and deinterlace 1080 50i AVCHD to ProRes MOV at 25P for  Final Cut Pro X 10.1.1.

If you have camera files such as MXF, multitrack MXF, MOV, DV, etc, you can go to Auncam.com, a good platform for camcorder users, videographers and film-makers.

// BPAV Structure-Convert and import Sony EX1 XML/MP4 files to iMovie //

Summary: Have you got a Sony XDCAM EX camera? This guide introduce the way to import Sony XML/MP4 files to iMovie via converting BPAV structure files to AIC MOV.

Q: I have a project shot on Sony EX1 with SxS cards. There is a folder on each SXS card named BPAV. Inside each BPAV folder is an empty folder called TAKR and a CLPR folder. In CLPR folder, there are MP4, .SMI, .PPN, .XML, and BIM. When I import the BPAV file to iMovie for iMovie cannot recognize XML footage. Any idea?

A: For BPAV folder for “BPAV” contains unsupported media XML, edting systems such as iMovie or FCP will fail to capture footage from BPAV structure. XML is just accompanying files. The XDCAM EX MP4 files hold the actual video data and the really important contents for importing to iMovie. So you can use Aunsoft iMedia Converter for Mac, which is able to directly capture XDCAM EX MP4 from BPAV structure and convert MP4/XML files to iMovie MOV.

When you cannot import XML/MP4 from XDCAM EX folder into iMovie, FCP, Avid, etc, you can choose to convert the media format MP4 to MOV, ProRes, MPG, etc. The crucial part is:

1. Never alter the contents of a BPAV folder in any way as you back it up to whatever machine to keep whole XDCAM Folder structure.
2. A powerful conversion tool can directly capture XDCAM EX files from BPAV Structure. (iMedia Converter for Mac)

Step 3. Conversion

Here click “Convert” to transcode XDCAM EX files to MOV. The Converter supports batch conversion, so if you have lots of XDCAM camera files to convert, check “Shut down computer after conversion”, and you can go away without keeping an eye on it.
